For an Azumaya algebra \(A\) over a commutative ring \(C\), Saltman proved that \(A\) is Brauer equivalent to an Azumaya algebra with an involution of the first kind if and only if \(A\) is Brauer equivalent to its opposite \(A^{\mathrm{op}}\). Based on this and similar results, it is asked whether Morita equivalence of a ring \(R\) to \(R^{\mathrm{op}}\) implies that \(R\) is Morita equivalent to a ring with an anti-automorphism or involution. To give partial answers to this and similar quastions, the author's concept of general bilinear form [Isr. J. Math. 205, 145-183 (2015; Zbl 1320.16006)] is used.
