In [\textit{M.~Schlosser}, ''Some new applications of matrix inversions in \(A_r\), Ramanujan J. 3, No.~4, 405--461 (1999; Zbl 0944.33016)] one of the authors obtained some interesting \(q\)-series expansions based on a matrix inverse technique derived in [\textit{C.~Krattenthaler}, ``A new matrix inverse,'' Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 124, 47--59 (1996; Zbl 0843.15005)]. These and other curious \(q\)-series identities based on this matrix inversion method are studied in more details by rewriting them in terms of \(q\)-integrals which leads to identities involving some \(q\)-beta integrals. By taking the limit \(q\rightarrow 1\) this leads to some interesting new beta-type integral evaluations.
