Let \(\Omega\) be a bounded connected open set in \(\mathbb{R}^n, n \geq 3\) with \(C^\infty\) boundary, and \(k> 0\). The authors consider the problem of determining the potential \(q \in L^\infty(\Omega;\mathbb{R})\) in the interior impedance problem \((-\Delta u - k^2 + q) u = 0\) in \(\Omega\), \(\partial_\nu u - ik u = f\) on \(\partial\Omega\) from the knowledge of the partial Robin-to-Dirichlet map at the fixed frequency \(k\) along an arbitrarily small portion of the boundary \(\partial \Omega\), assuming that it is known in a neighborhood of the boundary. They first prove a logarithmic stability estimate for this partial data inverse problem, and then show that at high frequencies, the stability estimate is of Hölder type, modulo an error term with a power-like decay as \(k\) becomes large.
