Let \(S\) be a projective surface with a fixed very ample polarization \(H\), such that \(h^1(\mathcal O(iH))=0\) for all \(i\in \mathbb Z\) (non-special surfaces). A vector bundle \(E\) on \(S\) is \textit{Ulrich} (with respect to \(H\)) if \(h^i(E(-iH))=h^j(E(-jH))=0\) for all \(i>0\) and \(j\le 2\). The study of families of Ulrich bundles is important to determine several geometric properties of \(S\). The author constructs rank \(2\) Ulrich bundles \(E\) on \(S\) by taking finite sets \(Z\) of cardinality \(h^0(\mathcal O(H)\) in divisors \(C\in |\mathcal O(H)|\), and considering extensions of the ideal sheaf \(\mathcal I_Z(2H+\eta)\), where \(\mathcal O(\eta)\) is a non-trivial divisor in \(\mathrm{Pic}^0(S)\) which satisfies \(h^0(\mathcal O(K_S\pm \eta))=h^1(\mathcal O(H\pm\eta))=0\). These bundles \(E\) are stable when \(Z\) is general, for surfaces \(S\) with geometric genus \(p_g=0\), irregularity \(q=1\) and sectional genus \(\pi\geq 2\). As a consequence, the author constructs \(m\)-dimensional families of indecomposable, pairwise non-isomorphic Ulrich bundles (of higher rank), for arbitrary \(m\gg 0\), on non-special surfaces with \(p_g=0, q=1\). In the usual terminology, this means that such surfaces are \textit{Ulrich-wild}.
