The hypergroup structure, translation, and convolution, associated to the Hankel multidimensional operator \[\Delta_\alpha=\sum_{j=1}^n\Big(\dfrac{\partial^2}{\partial x_j^2}+\frac{2\alpha_j+1}{x_j}\frac{\partial}{\partial x_j}\Big)\] on \((0,\infty)^n\) and the basic properties of the Hankel multidimensional transform \(\mathcal{H}_\alpha\), the Gauss kernel \(g_t\) and the heat kernel \({\mathcal{E}}_t\) are summarized. Then, the best approximation problem on the Sobolev type space \(\mathcal{H}_\beta\) is obtained by applying approximation theory based on the reproducing kernel of \(\mathcal{H}_\beta\).
