Let \(\Omega\subset G\) be a smooth domain in \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) with mean curvature \(H_{\partial\Omega}\) on \(\partial\Omega\) and \(H_{\partial G}\) on \(\partial G\). If \(\Omega\) has compact closure and \(h\) is a smooth real valued function on \(\overline{G}\) which is dominated by \(H_{\partial G}\) on \(\partial G\) and dominates \(H_{\partial\Omega}\) on \(\partial\Omega\) then there exists a smooth domain \(A\) between \(\Omega\) and \(G\) which has \(h\) as mean curvature on \(\partial A\) provided \(h\) satisfies a certain \(L^ p\)-condition. The proof relies heavily on previous work of \textit{F. Duzaar} and the author [ibid. 67, No. 1, 41-67 (1990; Zbl 0703.49035)] as well as regularity results obtained by \textit{I. Tamanini} [cf. Quad. Depart. Mat. Univ. Lecce/Italy, Q1 (1984)].
