It is proved that for every variety \(P_n\) generated by an \(n\)-element primal algebra there is a minimum variety (generated by \(P^+_n)\) strictly above it in the lattice \(L\) of interpretability types of varieties. \(P_n\) is equivalent to a variety generated by \(P_n\) (explicitly defined in the paper) and the construction of \(P^+_n\) from \(P_n\) is shown. Corollary: There exist denumerably many covering pairs in \(L\). This generalizes R. McKenzie's discovery of the first known cover (of the variety of Boolean algebras) in \(L\).
