A nonnegative function \(m\) defined on a ring with \(m(\emptyset)=0\) is called null-additive, if \(m(A\cup B)=m(A)\) whenever \(m(B)=0\) and \(A\cap B=\emptyset\). Using the algebraic approach by \textit{P. Capek} [Math. Slovaca 31, 53-69 (1981; Zbl 0452.28002)] and \textit{V. Ficker} [J. Aust. Math. Soc. 12, 101-105 (1971; Zbl 0203.35901)], the authors prove a variant of the Lebesgue decomposition theorem for null-additive set functions. Recall that the second author published recently a book ``Null-additive set functions'' (1996; Zbl 0856.28001).
