In this paper the density of states of a Schrödinger operator is defined on \(L^2(R^d)\) in the form \(-\Delta +V_\omega\) where \(V_\omega\) is a Poisson random potential, i.e. for some continuous, exponentially decreasing function \(V\), \(V_\omega(x)\equiv \int V(x-y) m(\omega,dy)\), where \(m\) is a Poisson random field on \(R^d\) with intensity \(\mu\). It is proven that the density of states of this operator permits an asymptotic expansion in the parameter \(\mu\).
