The authors develop a new approach to the numerical solution of the continuous spectrum radial Schrödinger equation. This approach leads to the numerical scheme which has much better accuracy then the well-known Numerov finite difference algorithm for this problem. The method is based on the reformulation of the assumed problem as an integral equation which is then discretized in the spectral type Clenshaw-Curtis quadrature method. Several practical numerical examples demonstrating the effectiveness of the integral equation method are presented. The authors say that the method is most well suited for applications in which a high accuracy is required and that a Fortran code of the algorithm is available on request.
