Given a finite Abelian group \(G\) and a complex valued \(2\)-cocycle \(\alpha\) of \(G\), the author shows how to construct an irreducible projective representation of \(G\) with \(2\)-cocycle \(\alpha\), by using the fact that an Abelian group is a \(PM\)-group. In the second part of the paper, \(G\) is assumed to be an elementary Abelian \(p\)-group, and \(S\) to be a subgroup of \(G\) of index \(p\) or \(p^2\). Then the author counts in each possible case the number of cohomology classes in the Schur multiplier of \(G\) whose corresponding irreducible projective representations behave in the same way when restricted to \(S\).
