Minors of the Hankel matrix of the order n, \({\mathbb{S}}_{p^ n}({\mathbb{A}})\), are Schur functions. (\({\mathbb{A}}\), \({\mathbb{B}}\) are alphabets with cardinals m, n). A formula is derived for the inversion of a Hankel matrix. By adjoining supplementary matrices the computation can be reduced. The inverse of the matrix \({\mathbb{S}}_{m^ n}({\mathbb{B}}-{\mathbb{A}})\) may be considered as a Bézout matrix. By constructing the Bézoutian the adjoint matrix may be obtained. Interpolation of orthogonal polynomials and recurrences of linear systems are discussed. Algorithms for the recurrences are derived. Alternative solutions based on the theory of symmetric operators are also proposed. A treatment using Laurent series is given.
