In 1993 \textit{B. Y. Chen} [Arch. Math. 60, No.~6, 568--578 (1993; Zbl 0811.53060)] introduced a new Riemannian invariant \(\delta_M(p)\) where \(M\) is a submanifold of a real space form and proved a basic inequality for it, which in the case of \(4\)-dimensional submanifolds in the \(6\)-sphere reads \(\delta_M \leq \frac{16H^2}{3} + \frac{15}{2}\) with \(H\) the mean curvature of \(M\). Assuming that \(M\) is a minimal CR submanifold for which this inequality reduces to an equality, the authors prove that \(M\) is locally congruent to a certain immersion which is described in the paper.
