The authors consider the boundary value problem \[ x'''(t)=a(t)f(t,x(t),x'(t),x''(t)),\quad 0<t<1, \] \[ x(0)=x'(\eta)=x''(1)=0. \] The existence of a solution is proved under appropriate conditions. Furthermore, the obtained solution is positive and concave on \((0,1)\).
