The authors use an extended Zeilberger's algorithm and the contour integral definitions of the Bernoulli and Euler numbers to prove various known identities for Bernoulli and Euler numbers and polynomials and give two new ones. Note that Theorem 6.4 in this paper is just a special case of Theorem 1.1(i) in the reviewer and \textit{H. Pan}'s paper [Acta Arith. 125, No. 1, 21--39 (2006; Zbl 1153.11012)] since \(r,s,t\) (negative allowed) in the latter are arbitrary complex numbers satisfying \(r+s+t=n-1\).
