A theorem of Harvey and Lawson states that a closed pseudoconvex embedded oriented CR manifold \(M\) of hypersurface type bounds a complex variety, with isolated singularities in the interior in case \(M\) is strongly pseudoconvex. The Author gives a new proof of this result, and shows that the singularities are isolated even dropping the strong pseudoconvexity assumption. As a consequence, he is able to answer by the affermative a conjecture of J. J. Kohn about the closedness of the range of \(\bar{\partial}_b\).
