The author introduces the notion of ``\(R\)-robustly entropy-expansiveness'' in order to reduce the hypothesis of robust entropy-expansiveness. The goal of this reduction consists in the requirement of entropy-expansiveness only in a locally residual subset (whence the meaning of the prefix \(R\)). For this definition, besides other things, an earlier result of \textit{M. J. Pacifico} and \textit{J. L. Vieitez} [Rev. Mat. Complut. 21, No. 2, 293--317 (2008; Zbl 1151.37032); Nonlinearity 23, No. 8, 1971--1990 (2010; Zbl 1201.37035)] is extended. In particular, the author posted and answered the question whether there exists some \(R\)-robustly entropy-expansive diffeomorphism that is not robustly entropy-expansive.
