Consider the boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} \varepsilon^2{d^2u\over dx^2} &= h(x) (u-\varphi(x))^2-\varepsilon f_1(u,x,\varepsilon),\\ u(0,\varepsilon) &= \varphi(0)+ \varepsilon^\alpha p,\;u(1,\varepsilon)= \varphi(1)+ \varepsilon^\alpha q\end{aligned}\tag{\(*\)} \] for \(\alpha> 0\), \(p>0\), \(q>0\), \(h(x)>0\). The author studies the existence of a solution of \((*)\) and its asymptotic expansion in \(\varepsilon\). Under some conditions he proves: (i) For \(0<\alpha<1/2\), the boundary layers near \(x=0\) and \(x=1\) contain three zones with different patterns of decreasing of the boundary layer functions and different scales of the boundary layer variables. (ii) For \(\alpha\geq 1/2\), the boundary layer consists only of one zone in which the boundary layer function decreases exponentially.
