The authors consider the two-dimensional isentropic compressible Euler equations with the polytropic pressure law \(\partial_t \rho + \operatorname{div}_x (\rho v)=0\), \(\partial_t(\rho v) + \operatorname{div}_x (\rho v \otimes v)+\nabla_x (K \rho^{\gamma})=0\) on the plane \(\mathbb R^2\) and \(t>0\). The special piece-wise initial data are considered. The authors investigate whether there exists a unique entropy solution or if the convex integration method produces infinitely many entropy solutions.
