It is a common opinion that the computing of the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of modules over quantized universal enveloping algebras is a difficult problem. In the paper under review the authors consider modules over the dual algebra. For a semisimple simply connected compact Lie group \(G\) let \({\mathcal O}_q(G)\) be the quantized algebra of regular functions on \(G\). Simple unitarizable left \({\mathcal O}_q(G)\)-module have been classified. Such modules \(V_{t,w}\) are indexed by an element \(t\) in a fixed maximal torus of \(G\) and an element \(w\) in the Weyl group. The main result of the paper under review is that the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of \(V_{t,w}\) is equal to the length of the element \(w\) of the Weyl group when \(G\) is of type \(A\), \(C\) or \(D\). As an application of the methods the authors also obtain similar results for certain homogeneous spaces.
