Let $L/F$ be a Galois extension of algebraic number fields with Galois group $G$. For a conjugacy class $C \subset G$, let $\pi_C(x)$ denote the counting function of the unramified prime ideals of $F$ with Artin symbol equal to $C$. The asymptotic expansion of $\pi_C(x)$ depends on the existence of a possible Landau-Siegel zero $\beta_1$ of the Dedekind zeta function of $L$. In Theorem 1.1, the authors present a unified formula for $\pi_C(x)$ with absolute and effective constants, where the error term is independent of the existence of $\beta_1$. This generalizes a result of \textit{V. Kumar Murty} [Lond. Math. Soc. Lect. Note Ser. 247, 287--308 (1997; Zbl 0988.11018)] as well as results of the authors [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2018, No. 16, 4991--5027 (2018; Zbl 1447.11115)]. Finally, they give an application for the counting function of primes represented by a positive definite binary quadratic form.
