In the article the authors show that non-isomorphic effective linear circle actions yield non-diffeomorphic differential structures (in the sense of Sikorski) on the corresponding orbit spaces. This generalises an earlier result by one of the authors for orbifolds [\textit{J. Watts}, Rocky Mt. J. Math. 47, No. 1, 289--327 (2017; Zbl 1362.57035)] to linear circle actions. Note that it is essential to know that the differential structure on the orbit space came from a linear circle action. The invariants developed in the paper are not strong enough to recover the action (up to isomorphism) if one only assumes that the orbit space came from a smooth circle action.
