The authors show that the norm associated to a tensor product of sufficiently symmetric measurements is essentially equivalent to a multi-partite generalization of the Hilbert-Schmidt norm. Measurements with special symmetry properties, called designs, are used, and comparisons with 2-norms are established. From the paper: ``We have solved an open problem from W. Matthews et al, showing that for any number \(K\) of parties the measurement norm on Hermitian operators defined by local 4-designs is equivalent to a certain relative of the Hilbert-Schmidt norm.''
