The purpose of this paper is to study the Fokker-Planck-Landau equation under the action of strong magnetic fields. The first set of theorems are concerned with integral formulas for the averaged Fokker-Planck-Landau collision operator \(Q\). The second set of theorems are concerned with the characterization of the kernel for a certain differential operator. Then the fluid approximation when the collision mechanism dominates the transport is studied. Finally, the case when the density is close to the equilibrium is studied. The proofs use Fubini's theorem, the Maxwellian function, integration by parts, Larmor circles and a Hilbert space. In an appendix the rest of the proofs are given. | |||
