The paper studies the vanishing viscosity dissipation limit problem of the Navier-Stokes-Fourier system endowed with the equation of state relating the internal energy to the mass density and the pressure. The asymptotic behaviour of such solutions represents a complex and interesting problem from both the mathematical and the physical point of view. The result is unconditional in the case of the Navier type (slip) boundary conditions and extends to the no-slip condition for the velocity under some extra hypotheses of Kato's type concerning the behavior of the fluid in the boundary layer. This result our covers all admissible values of the adiabatic coefficient as well as general dependence of the transport coefficients on the temperature.
