Localization, Hurwitz numbers and the Witten conjecture (Q1018241): Difference between revisions

The authors use a combinatorial method of Goulden-Jackson-Vakil to prove the Witten conjecture/Kontsevich theorem. More explicitly, they prove the recursion formula of Dijkgraaf and therefore obtain a proof of Witten conjecture without using asymptotic analysis. They also derived more recursion formulas of Hodge integrals.
