A way to study Hopf algebra theory is to put it in a general setting, especially in the category language, and one benefit is that it can unify many kinds of generalizations. For example, Hopf monad is a way which at least grasps the theory of weak Hopf algebras, Hopf algebroids etc. But up to now, there is no such way to realize quasi-Hopf algebras introduced by Drinfeld. This paper gave a way, that is, slack Hopf monad. By definition, it is a colax magma nonad on a magma category satisfying some natural ``slackly'' conditions. From this way, one can get a categorical characterization of quasi-Hopf algebras (see Theorem 63 of the paper). This is interesting.
