In this paper, the author gives a new construction of a \(p\)-adic \(L\)-function \(\mathcal{L}(f, \Xi)\), where \(f\) is a holomorphic newform, and \(\Xi\) is an anticyclotomic family of Hecke characters on the imaginary quadratic field \(K=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-d})\). This new approach makes use of an explicit form of Ichino's triple product formula [\textit{A. Ichino}, Duke Math. J. 145, No. 2, 281--307 (2008; Zbl 1222.11065)] in the CM form case, which relates central values of \(L\)-functions of \(f\) twisted by certain Hecke characters on \(K\), to Petersson inner products involving \(f\) and CM forms associated to the Hecke characters. Then the construction of \(\mathcal{L}(f, \Xi)\) can be obtained by varying the Hecke characters properly in \(p\)-adic families, as well as interpolating Petersson inner products \(p\)-adically via Hida's theory (see, for example, [\textit{H. Hida}, Ann. Inst. Fourier 38, No. 3, 1--83 (1988; Zbl 0645.10028)]). The paper gives a thorough realization of the above approach, and contains enough details, which makes it a nice reference in related fields.
