Let \(D\) be an ultrafilter over a set \(I\). The author studies and characterizes \(D\)-convergence in linearly ordered spaces (LOTS) and GO spaces. Also, several compact-like properties of LOTS and GO spaces, as \(D\)-compactness, \(D\)-pseudocompactness, \([\nu,\mu]\)-compactness, initial \(\lambda\)-compactness, are characterized in terms of ultrafilter convergence. The impact of set theory to the studied classes of spaces is explained in the last two sections.
