Summary: We obtain a normality criterion for meromorphic functions concerning shared values. Let \(\mathcal F\) be a family of meromorphic functions in a domain \(D\) and let \(k\), \(n \geq k + 2\) be positive integers. Let \(a \neq 0\) and \(b\) be two finite complex constants. If for each \(f \in \mathcal F\) all zeros of \(f\) have multiplicity at least \(k + 1\) and \(f + a(f^{(k)})^n\) and \(g + a(g^{(k)})^n\) share \(b\) in \(D\) for every pair of functions \(f, g \in \mathcal F\), then \(\mathcal F\) is normal in \(D\). This result generalizes the related theorem according to Xu et al. and Qi et al., respectively. There is a gap in the proofs of Lemma 3 by \textit{Y. Wang} [Turk. J. Math. 36, No. 2, 263--271 (2012; Zbl 1247.30055)] and Theorem 1 by \textit{Q. Zhang} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 338, No. 1, 545--551 (2008; Zbl 1145.30013)], respectively. They did not consider the case of \(f(z)\) being zerofree. We fill the gap in this paper. | |||
