Let \[ \| f\, | M^p_u \| = \sup_{x\in R^n, r>0} r^{\frac{n}{p} - \frac{n}{u}} \Big( \int_{|x-y|\leq r} |f(y)|^{u} \, dy \Big)^{1/u} \] with \(1\leq u \leq p <\infty\) be the classical Morrey spaces in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and let \[ U_\alpha f(x) = \int_{\mathbb{R}^n} \frac{f(y)}{|x-y|^{n- \alpha}} dy \] \(0<\alpha <n\), be the classical Riesz potentials. The paper generalizes both the Morrey spaces and the Riesz potentials to separable metric bounded spaces furnished with non-doubling Radon measures, and variable exponents \(p(x)\), \(u(x)\) and \(\alpha(x)\). The authors discuss the resulting generalized Morrey spaces and prove mapping properties for related Riesz potentials of Sobolev and Trudinger type.
