Introducing an Orlicz radial sum and Orlicz mixed volumes, the authors extend the dual \(L_p\) Brunn-Minkowski theory to a dual Orlicz-Brunn-Minkowski theory. Let \(\mathcal{C}^+\) be the class of convex and strictly decreasing functions \(\phi:(0,\infty)\longrightarrow (0,\infty)\) satisfying that \(\lim_{t\longrightarrow \infty} \phi(t)=0\) and \(\phi(0)=\infty\). For \(\phi\in\mathcal{C}^+\), \(a,b\geq 0\) (not both zero) the \textit{Orlicz radial sum} \(a\cdot K\tilde{+}_{\phi}\,b\cdot L\) of the star bodies (about the origin) \(K,L\in\mathbb{R}^n\) is defined by \[ \rho(a\cdot K\tilde{+}_{\phi}\,b\cdot L,u)=\sup\left\{t>0\,:\,a\phi(\frac{\rho(K,u)}{t})+ b\phi(\frac{\rho(L,u)}{t})\leq \phi(1)\right\},\; u\in S^{n-1}, \] where \(S^{n-1}\) is the unit sphere in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and \(\rho(M,\cdot)\) denotes the radial function of \(M\). It is shown that for \(\phi(t)=t^{-p}\) the Orlicz radial sum is the \(L_p\) harmonic radial sum. The dual Orlicz radial mixed volume \(\tilde{V}_{\phi}(K,L)\) is introduced by means of an integral representation, which coincides for \(\phi(t)=t^{-p}\) with the integral representation given by \textit{E. Lutwak} for the \(L_p\) dual mixed volume [Pac. J. Math. 58, 531--538 (1975; Zbl 0273.52007)]. The authors provide also a variational formula in terms of the Orlicz radial sum for it. A dual Orlicz-Minkowski inequality, along with its equality conditions, is established. This coincides for the already mentioned \(\phi\) with Lutwak's \(L_p\) dual Minkowski inequality. Further, the authors derive from it the dual Orlicz-Brunn-Minkowski inequality which establishes that for origin star bodies \(K,L\), \(a,b>0\) and \(\phi\in \mathcal{C}^+\) \[ \phi(1)\geq a\phi\left(\left( \frac{V(K)}{V(a\cdot K\tilde{+}_{\phi}b\cdot L)}\right)^{\frac{1}{n}}\right)+b\phi\left(\left( \frac{V(L)}{V(a\cdot K\tilde{+}_{\phi}b\cdot L)}\right)^{\frac{1}{n}}\right) \] with equality if and only if \(K\) and \(L\) are dilates of each other. The equivalence between the Orlicz-Minkowski inequality and the Orlicz-Brunn-Minkowski inequality is also provided.

Introducing an Orlicz radial sum and Orlicz mixed volumes, the authors extend the dual \(L_p\) Brunn-Minkowski theory to a dual Orlicz-Brunn-Minkowski theory.
