Summary: We introduce a new viscosity approximation method with a weakly contractive mapping of general iterative processes for finding a common fixed point of nonexpansive semigroups \(\{T(t) : t \in \mathbb R^+\}\) in the framework of Banach spaces. We prove that, under some mild conditions, these iterative processes converge strongly to the common fixed point of \(\{T(t) : t \in \mathbb R^+\}\), which is the unique solution of some variational inequality. The results obtained in this paper extend and improve the recent results of \textit{S.-H. Li} et al. [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser.~A, Theory Methods 70, No.~9, 3065--3071 (2009; Zbl 1177.47075)], \textit{R.-D. Chen} and \textit{H.-M. He} [Appl. Math. Lett. 20, No.~7, 751--757 (2007; Zbl 1161.47049)] and many others as special cases. | |||

Li} et al.
