Let \(k\) be a field and \(K\) be a finite Galois field extension of \(k\) with Galois group \(G\). The norm is the map \(n: K\rightarrow k\), \(n(a)=\prod_{\sigma \in G}\sigma (a),\) for all \( a\in K\). Hilbert 90 Theorem asserts that if \(G\) is a cyclic group, there is an element \(a\in K\) such that \(n(a)=1\) if and only if for each automorphism \(\sigma \) which generates \(G\) there is an element \(x\in K\), \(x\neq 0\), such that \(\sigma(x)a=x\). Hilbert proved this Theorem only in the case when \(G\) is of prime order and \(K\) is a number field. The general case was proved by \textit{A. Speiser} in [``Zahlentheoretische Sätze aus der Gruppentheorie'', Math. Z. 5, 1--6 (1919; JFM 47.0092.01)]. In the paper under review, the author proves that a version of Hilbert 90 Theorem is valid for a large class of algebras which are not necessarily commutative, distributive or associative: algebras with conjugation. This class contains the \(n\)th iteration of the Conway-Smith doubling procedure. Moreover, the author uses this version of Hilbert 90 Theorem to parametrize all solutions in ordered fields to the norm one equation for such algebras. | |||
