Decompositions related to symmetric varieties (Q550001): Difference between revisions

Let \(G\) be a connected reductive group over an algebraically closed field of characteristic \(\neq 2\). Let \(X\) be either \(G/P\), where \(P\) is a parabolic subgroup of \(G\), or the wonderful compactification of \(G/K\), where \(K\) is the fixed point group of an automorphism of \(G\) of order \(2\) (in the latter case \(G\) is adjoint). The paper established a decomposition of \(X\) into finitely many \(K\)-stable locally closed pieces.
