Let \(k\in\mathbb Z\), \(2\mid k\), \(k> 4\), and \(\nu\in\mathbb Z\), \(\nu\geq 0\). Let \(S_l\) be the space of the cuspidal modular forms of weight \(l\) for the full modular group \(\text{SL}(2,\mathbb Z)\) and let \(f\) be a normalized Hecke eigenform in \(S_{k+\nu}\). The authors prove an identity, which relates a weighted sum of the summands \[ L(\varphi, 2k+ \nu- 3) L(\varphi\otimes\text{Sym}^2 f,\, 2k+ 2\nu- 2) \] over the normalized Hecke eigenforms \(\varphi\) in \(S_{2k+\nu-2}\) to a weighted sum of the summands \(L(f\otimes f\otimes h,2k+ 2\nu- w- 2)\) over the normalized Hecke eigenforms \(h\) in \(S_{k+2\nu-2w}\) and the integers \(w\) in the interval \(0\leq w\leq\nu\). This identity is deduced from the authors' more general formula, involving the coefficients of Siegel's Eisenstein series of degree 3 and weight \(k\). The paper under review may be regarded as a continuation of the previous work by \textit{B. Heim} [in: Multiple Dirichlet series, \(L\)-functions and automorphic forms. New York, NY: Birkhäuser Prog. Math. 300, 173--191 (2012; Zbl 1287.11070)].
