The paper is concerned with the study of the reaction-diffusion models with a region of depressed excitability which exhibit waveblock and unidirectional propagation of a wave of excitation. It gives sufficient conditions on the parameters for waveblock steady states to occur, and the numerical computations of the linear model show that there are multiple waveblock steady states that may exist. The stability of these example steady states is checked by numerical simulation showing that the smallest positive waveblock steady state is stable.
