Let \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^N (N\geq 3)\), for \(M(s)\in C^1(\mathbb{R}^+,\mathbb{R}^+)\) and \(f(s) \in C^1(\mathbb{R},\mathbb{R})\), the following Kirchhoff type equation \[ -M(\int_\Omega | \nabla u|^2dx)\Delta u = \lambda f(u), u|_{\partial \Omega}=0. \leqno{(P)} \] is studied in this paper. Under some conditions on functions \(M\) and \(f\), the author proves that there is \(\lambda^*>0\) such that problem (P) has a constant sign solution \(u_\lambda\) and a sign-changing solution \(w_\lambda\) for any \(\lambda>\lambda^*\). Moreover, \(w_\lambda\) changes sign only once and the energy of \(w_\lambda\) is strictly large than two times of that of \(u_\lambda\). The behavior of \(u_\lambda\) and \(w_\lambda\) are also investigated as \(\lambda \rightarrow +\infty\). Particularly, if some stronger conditions are posed on \(M\) and \(f\), the author shows that \(\lambda^*\) can be 0, and \(u_\lambda\) can be a ground state and \(w_\lambda\) can be a least energy nodal solution.
