\textit{Y. Huang} et al. [Acta Math. 216, No. 2, 325--388 (2016; Zbl 1372.52007)] asked for the necessary and sufficient conditions on a given Borel measure to be exactly the \(q\)th dual curvature measure of a convex body; this is the so-called dual Minkowski problem, for \(q=0\) yielding the Aleksandrov problem, and for \(q=n\) giving the logarithmic Minkowski problem. They considered the cases \(0< q< n\) when the given measure is even, and they presented a sufficient condition ensuring the existence of a solution, whose uniqueness (except for \(q=0\)) remains open. The critical integer cases from \(1\) to \(n-1\) were also successfully investigated. In the present paper, the author gives a complete solution for the case when \(q<0\) is given, including existence and uniqueness. Further on, his approach works not only in the case of even measures, but even when the measures under consideration are arbitrary.
