The paper proves that \(n\) points in the plane determine at most \(n^{9/4+\epsilon}\) triangles of unit area, for any \(\epsilon>0\). This is improvement on the result of \textit{A. Dumitrescu, M. Sharir} and \textit{C. D. Tóth} [J. Comb. Theory Ser. A, 116, 1177--1198 (2009; Zbl 1179.52026)], which proved the last record, \(n^{44/19}\).
