In this paper the author studies the second moment of the Rankin-Selberg \(L\)-functions \(L(\phi\times u_j, \frac12+it)\) of a fixed Hecke-Maass form \(\phi\) on \(\text{SL}(3, \mathbb{Z})\) convolved with the family \(u_j\) of Hecke-Maass cusp forms on \(\text{SL}(2, \mathbb{Z})\) (for full definitions see the paper). He proves that, for any fixed \(\varepsilon>0\), \[ \int_{-T^{1-\varepsilon}}^{T^{1-\varepsilon}}\sum_{{T<t_j\leq 2T}\atop{u_j \;{\text{even}}}}\left|L\left(u_j\times\phi,\frac12+it\right)\right|^2dt\ll T^{3+\varepsilon}. \] The obtained result can be regarded as a step towards subconvexity for these \(L\)-functions. For the proof the functional equation, the Kuznetsov formula, the Voronoi summation formula, the large sieve were used.
