The Figueroa planes are an infinite family of non-desarguesian planes which are not translation planes. They can be either infinite or finite of order \(q^3\), \(q>2\), with \(q\) a prime power. There exists an open conjecture that all non-desarguesian projective planes contain a Fano subplane, that is the projective plane of order 2. The author proves that every Figueroa plane of finite order contains a Fano subplane.
