The authors present a unified approach of the standard results on (local) bmo and \(h^1\) in the context of doubling metric measure spaces including the John-Nirenberg lemma, boundedness of the maximal operator in bmo, a characterization of local bmo, atomic decomposition of \(h^1\), and duality result between the local spaces.
