The authors study the following boundary value problem \(\Delta u=0\) in \(\Omega\subseteq\mathbb{R}^2\), \(\frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu}=\frac {1}{\varepsilon}f(u)\) on \(\partial\Omega\), where \(\nu\) is the unit normal exterior vector, \(\varepsilon>0\) is a small parameter and \(f\) is a bistable, balanced nonlinearity of class \(C^3.\) The paper gives some constructive existence results, error estimates and stability results.
