Let \(\{\psi_ n\}\) be a multiplicative Vilenkin system of bounded type generated by primes \(p_ 1,p_ 2,\dots\) . The author studies strong summability of \(\{\psi_ n\}\)-Fourier series for the case \(p_ k=p\) a fixed prime. This includes the case \(p=2\), i.e., the case of Walsh- Fourier series. The author proves that \(\sup_{n\geq 0}\| S_ n(f,x,t)\|_{\text{BMO}}\) is an operator of weak type (1,1). Using this result, he shows that the \(\{\psi_ n\}\)-Fourier series of functions in certain Orlicz spaces are a.e. strongly summable. A consequence of this result is that the maximal operator generated by \(\mu\) means of the \(\{\psi_ n\}\)-Fourier series of \(f\) is of weak type (1,1). For the Walsh system, this result had been obtained by \textit{F. Schipp} [Acta Sci. Math. 30, 77-87 (1969; Zbl 0174.103)].
