The authors give the definition of generalized metric (or \(D^*\)-metric) space and prove some related metric results. Then they define a pair of weakly commuting selfmaps of \(X\) and prove a common fixed point theorem for three selfmaps of \(X\) satisfying a generalized contractive condition. Some numerical examples are also given.
