Semigroups of locally Lipschitzian operators in Banach spaces (Q1174684): Difference between revisions

The authors develop a complete theory giving a correspondence in a Banach space \(X\) between semigroups of nonlinear operators satisfying a certain locally Lipschitz condition \((L)\) and locally quasi-dissipative (LQD) operators satisfying a certain range condition \((R)\). First, an exponential type growth condition \((G)\) is imposed on semigroups which satisfy \((L)\), and basic properties of such semigroups are investigated. The generation of semigroups satisfying \((L)\) by LQD operators satisfying \((R)\) is discussed. Finally, the authors investigate the generators and the differentiability of semigroups satisfying \((L)\) under the additional assumptions that \(X\) is reflexive and has a norm which is uniformly Gateaux differentiable.
