Let \(X\) be a compact subset of the complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\). We denote by \(R(x)\) the space of all rational functions with poles off \(X\) and \({\mathcal R}(x)\overline{\mathcal P}_ 1\) the rational module \(\{r_ 0(z)+\bar r_ 1(z)\}\), where each \(r_ i(z)\in{\mathcal R}(x)\). \textit{J. Wang} [(*) Rational modules and higher order Cauchy transforms, Int. J. Math. Sci. 4, 661-665 (1981; Zbl 0482.30030)] proved that \([{\mathcal R}(x)\overline P_ 1]_ p=[{\mathcal R}(x)+L^ p_ a(x)\hat{} ]_ p\) for all \(1\leq p<\infty\), using the theory of singular integrals and Schwarty lemma. The author proves the following theorems: Theorem A: Let \(X\) be a compact set of the complex plane. Then (i) \([{\mathcal R}(x)\overline P_ 1]_ p=[{\mathcal R}(x)+L^ p_ a(x)\hat{} ]_ p\) for all \(1\leq p<\infty\) and (ii) \([{\mathcal R}(x)\overline P_ 1]_{BMO}=[{\mathcal R}(x)+L^{\infty}_ a(x)\hat{} ]_{BMO}\). The author uses a constructive method (different method) to prove the result of J. Wang (*) for the \(L^ p\)-norms and then he extends the same result to the BMO norm case. This can be proved for semi-norm case.
