Topological conjugacies of piecewise monotone interval maps (Q5932795): Difference between revisions

The authors investigate the topological conjugacy of piecewise monotonic expansive maps of the unit interval which satisfy a finite Markov condition. They show that such maps are topologically conjugate to a map which is piecewise linear on \([0,1]\). The authors also extend their results to the case where the Markov partition is countable and illustrate how the topological entropy can be calculated for these maps.
