It is a conjecture of \textit{C. Casacuberta} and \textit{W. Dicks} that every action of a finite group \(G\) on a contractible 2-complex \(X\) has a fixed point [Publ. Mat., Barc. 36, No. 2A, 463-466 (1992; Zbl 0839.57025)]. In this paper, the author proves the conjecture under the additional hypothesis that \(X\) is diagrammatically reducible, that is, any spherical diagram over \(X\) is reducible by a folding. The proof is based on Stallings's notion of equivariant folding and on a previous characterization of diagrammatically reducible complexes, as the ones such that any finite subcomplex of their universal covering collapses to a 1-complex [\textit{J. M. Corson} and \textit{B. Trace}, J. Aust. Math. Soc., Ser. A 69, No. 1, 116-126 (2000; Zbl 0964.57003)].
